How to Disable and Re-enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for Temporary Access

Sometimes, Pass Pros or assistants may need temporary access to your account for support or setup purposes. To do this, you’ll need to disable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and create a temporary password.

Disabling 2FA

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. While 2FA should remain enabled for your security, it can be temporarily disabled when needed.

  1. Go to your Main Dashboard and select Settings.
  2. In the Profile tab
  3. Select  Security.
  4. Uncheck both 2FA options and click Apply.

Creating a Temporary Password

If you’re granting temporary access, you may also need to set a temporary password. Note that Pass doesn't automatically revert temporary passwords, so you'll need to manually update it when the temporary access is no longer needed.

  1. From the Main Dashboard, go to Settings.
  2. In the Profile tab
  3. Select Change Password.
  4. Enter your current password, then create a temporary password,  re-enter it, and click on "Apply". We recommend using a strong password with numbers and special characters, as 2FA will be disabled during this time.
  • Your account is now ready to be shared with the user needing temporary access, such as a Pass Pro.

  • After access is no longer needed, it’s highly recommended to re-enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and update your password. This is essential for safeguarding your galleries and ensuring your clients' privacy.
