Tips for Creating and Sharing Slideshows

Creating slideshows with Pass is a powerful way to preserve memories for your clients and share your work with your community. Here are our best tips for making impactful slideshows.

Choosing the Right Format

Pass offers four format options, each suited for different uses:

  • 3:2 Landscape – Great for most photography.
  • 16:9 Landscape – Provides a cinematic look.
  • 4:3 Landscape – Ideal for film-style images with a classic feel.
  • 9:16 Portrait – Perfect for mobile and social media.

Pro Tip: Create a desktop (landscape) version first, then duplicate and convert it to 9:16 Portrait for mobile sharing.

Selecting Your Images

Choose a highlight collection that tells a story. Avoid repetition unless it enhances an emotional moment—such as showing a sequence of images for a first look.

Your selections will impact other design elements, like slideshow speed and music choice, so be intentional with your curation.

Pro Tip: Use the photo filter to quickly add your favorite, rated, or color-labeled images from your editing software.

Recommended Image Counts:

  • Wedding (600+ images) → Slideshow with 50-100 images
  • Family/Lifestyle (150 images) → Slideshow with 35-50 images
  • Portrait Session (50 images) → Slideshow with 15-25 images

💡 If using slideshows with the Simple Sales System App, include all session images so clients can choose their purchase package.

Designing Your Slideshow

Pass provides preset layouts, color palettes, and font collections to quickly create a beautiful slideshow.

Title and End Slides

Your title and end slides make the first and last impression. Consider the audience:

  • For clients sharing with friends/family, a title like “Our Wedding” personalizes the slideshow.
  • For marketing purposes, include your website or social media handle on the end slide to attract prospective clients.

Pro Tip: Duplicate the title slide to extend its duration or create an alternate layout to showcase the title image again.

Download and Sales Settings

Decide whether to offer slideshows for free or as a paid product:

  • Sell social media versions at an affordable rate.
  • Offer a free slideshow to encourage organic client sharing.
  • Sell a full-length slideshow in the shop.
  • Create different slideshows for Main Clients vs. gallery guests.

Slideshow Length & Music

  • Desktop slideshows: Ideal length is 3-5 minutes.
  • Social media slideshows: Keep it under 1 minute for Instagram Reels, Stories, or TikTok.

Pass allows multiple songs per slideshow, with fade transitions between tracks.

💡 Music Tip: Pass’s licensed music library can be used on social media, but uploading in-app music (Instagram/TikTok) may improve visibility in their algorithms.

Duplicating for Mobile & Social Media

Once your slideshow is complete:

  1. Duplicate it from the Photos tab and change the format to 9:16 Portrait for mobile.
  2. Adjust the layout orientation automatically.
  3. Refine the edit, keeping it under a minute for social media.
  4. Customize the title slide to match the audience:
    • Desktop version: “John and Sara”
    • Social media version: “Our lovely Wedding”

Creating and sharing slideshows with Pass is an effective way to showcase your work while giving clients a beautiful way to relive their memories.
